Education and Coaching
Practical learning for greater understanding, stronger communication, and more informed choices.
You can bring the question you have been rehearsing in your head. The awkward one counts, too. We can talk about bodies, pleasure, access, relationships, or the words you need for a difficult conversation.

Accessible anatomy
I proposed tactile sexual anatomy materials to a UC Berkeley design team. Their collaborative development and testing with blind and low vision participants produced models for sexual health education. Read the university feature · Read the Gena project announcement
Sexual health in education
Read my Expanded Core Curriculum framework and see the 2025 conference program (PDF). These connect sexuality education to skills blind students use in daily life.
Consent teaching
An Australian educator handbook credits my suggested activity for practicing responses to consent violations and microaggressions. Read the handbook, pages 22–23 (PDF).
As a public health professional, sexual health professional, and sexologist, I help people explore how health, disability, sexuality, power, and access shape everyday life. My work brings together education, reflection, and skills you can use in relationships, community life, and professional practice.
Sexual health education that people can use
As a sexual health professional and sexologist, I teach about anatomy, pleasure, intimacy, relationships, consent, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and communicating about sexual health. The content and activities are shaped for the age, questions, access needs, and context of the people learning.
For blind and low vision learners, accessible education means more than reading a handout aloud. It can include tactile anatomy models, clear verbal description, opportunities to explore educational materials, and practice with communication and self-advocacy. Participants choose how they engage; nobody needs to share personal sexual experiences.
My experience spans reproductive health education with TeenSMART, youth and adult sexual health programs at LightHouse, and education for parents, teachers, and blindness professionals. I connect sexual health with the Expanded Core Curriculum so consent, body knowledge, relationships, and access are part of everyday learning.
Individual, relationship, and small group coaching
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Coaching offers space to ask questions, sort through an experience, prepare for a conversation, or identify next steps.
I work with individuals, partners, families, and small groups, including blind and disabled people and people in different relationship structures. You do not need to be blind or disabled to ask about working together.
Topics may include:
- Consent, boundaries, communication, dating, and relationships.
- Sexual health, pleasure, intimacy, identity, gender, and body autonomy.
- Ableism and internalized ableism, including messages that shape confidence, belonging, and sexuality.
- Self-advocacy, access needs, and navigating education, healthcare, and service systems.
- Preparing for school planning meetings, advocacy conversations, and difficult family discussions.
- Blindness, disability, life transitions, leadership, and community responsibilities.
Sexuality education can include sexual health information, risk awareness, contraception, sexual orientation, kink, and different relationship structures, according to your questions and goals. Sex positivity includes respecting a person’s choice to pursue sexual experiences, decline them, or remain unsure.
Education and professional development
I offer workshops, guest lectures, conference presentations, and learning series for students, educators, families, professionals, and community groups. Topics include public health and disability justice, sexual health and body autonomy, consent, access, and advocacy.
Workshops include Sexual Health, Disability, and Body Autonomy and Internalized Ableism: Getting Out of Your Own Way. Sessions connect ideas with everyday situations and practical language.
My approach
Blind positivity and sex positivity make room for curiosity, pleasure, identity, and self-direction. Cultural humility means I listen to your experiences and priorities and examine my assumptions. Harm reduction means discussing information, options, and risks without shame.
Disability justice informs how we understand barriers and support. Working on personal skills can happen alongside recognizing what a family, organization, or system needs to change. Interdependence and access needs belong in the conversation.
Consent culture also shapes how we work together: your pace, boundaries, and choices matter. We discuss privacy, expectations, and whether the support is a good fit. Depending on your goals, we may use resources, practice conversations, or agree on activities between sessions.
Formats and rates
Choose a focused single session, ongoing coaching, or small group support where available. Coaching is generally offered by phone or online. We can discuss other arrangements and access needs in advance.
Individual coaching is offered on a sliding scale of $75 to $125 per hour. Limited lower-cost or no-cost spaces may be available, depending on my schedule and capacity. Group work, workshops, and professional development receive a custom quote.
Coaching provides education and support. It does not replace therapy, medical care, legal advice, or crisis services. When a need falls outside my role, we can discuss resources and referrals.
This work connects to the health promotion action area of developing personal skills.
